Matt Hornery- Finance Consultant

Matt joined Centrepoint Finance as a broker in 2001, after many years managing hotels in Brisbane. He quickly developed his own client base, gained through diligence and hard work. His experience includes the earthmoving, agriculture, transport and engineering industries. Matt holds a degree in commerce and a post graduate degree in economics.

Steve List- Finance Consultant

Steve joined Centrepoint Finance in 2001 after spending 13 years with ANZ bank (5 years in the NT and the rest in Qld) and 1 year as a mortgage broker on the Gold Coast. During his time in the finance industry, he has dealt with a diverse range of clients in a wide range of industries. His interests include outdoor activities such as water skiing and motorbike riding.

Ian McPherson- Finance Consultant

Ian has more than 35 years’ experience in the finance industry. Ian spent 20 years in the Westpac Group achieving roles from Sales Executive to Branch Manager. Having worked throughout regional Queensland in Biloela, Rockhampton, Maryborough, Toowoomba and on the Gold Coast. Specialising in the Earthmoving and Transport industries, Ian has also financed assets from manufacturing equipment to aircraft. Spare time is dedicated to motor racing and playing golf.

Brad Fairbairn- Finance Consultant

After completing a Bachelor of Business degree at the CIAE (now called Central Queensland University) which included two years of accountancy study, Brad followed his interests in machinery and agriculture starting work at the local Caterpillar dealership eventually spending 20 years in the sales and marketing of various brands of equipment which included Caterpillar, Hitachi, Class, and John Deere among others to the construction, mining, forestry, and government markets. Three years was also spent at an engineering manufacturing business which supplied equipment primarily to the earthmoving & mining industries. In 2002 Brad joined BFL as a finance consultant and has worked with people from a variety of industries and businesses. Brad focuses on obtaining the best results for the long-term growth and strength of the client’s business. Many of his current clients are in the earthmoving & transport industries as well as manufacturing, a number these businesses were start-ups or needing to take steps to increase their capacity while undertaking sustainable growth. Several Brad’s current clients have been working with BFL for over 30 years.

Tim Matchett- Finance Consultant

With over 20 years commercial banking and finance experience Tim joined Centrepoint Finance in June 2014. Prior to joining Centrepoint Finance spent 8 years with GE Capital, with half of those years based in SEQ providing finance solutions to clients within the Civil Contracting, Mining Services and Transport industries. He has dealt with a broad range of asset-based lending including, Property Investment & Development, Plant & Equipment Debt Restructuring and Invoice Financing. In addition to the above roles Tim spent 3 years with the CBA as a Corporate Relationship Manager in Sydney which gave him exposure to Foreign Exchange, Trade, Working Capital, Business Lending and Interest Rate Risk Management. Engaging with clients on complex and difficult credits has been a staple with Tim assisting many businesses restructure current commitments and improve their available cash position. Concrete pumping and poly pipe welding have become specialty assets due to the size and intricacy of the transactions. Helping customers sell their businesses has also become a rewarding progression, guiding people through the working life cycle

Katrina Manning- Finance Consultant

Katrina initially joined Centrepoint Finance in 2005 providing credit analyst and support assistance to our Finance Consultants. With the knowledge and experience gained in this role over 9 years, in August 2014 Katrina commenced her current role as Finance Consultant. Katrina’s passion is in helping her clients obtain finance that helps their businesses grow whilst maintaining a high level of customer service, building long lasting relationships and making the finance process as easy and Hassel free as possible. Her client base includes those in transport, earthmoving, manufacturing, engineering, road profiling plus many more.

Peter Stevens- Finance Consultant

With over 30 years’ experience in the Banking and Finance broking industries, Peter has during this time worked for the ANZ Bank (in their business and chattel finance for over 15 years) and for the past 18 years has worked in the broking industry focusing on Equipment Finance. Joining Centrepoint Finance in 2017, Peter is very experienced in the earthmoving and transport industries and has managed clients from small operators to larger high turnover businesses. He always strives for outstanding customer service and the best possible outcomes for his clients. Outside of Centrepoint Finance, Peter’s interests include Cricket and Football and activities with his kids.

Colin Selby- Finance Consultant

Colin started his career in Materials and Handling with Toyota. He started working in Equipment Finance in 2005 covering business development and relationship management including commercial borrowers, intermediaries and equipment suppliers. Colin has a can-do attitude with a unique view on the workings of the world. Running and music are his most enjoyed side gigs.

Joshua Lane- Finance Consultant

Josh joined the Centrepoint Team 2 years ago as one of our Broker Support Specialists, since joining our Team Josh has been a valuable team member and always displayed a professional positive attitude.  Since day 1 Josh has been driven and focused on becoming a finance broker and through Josh’s hard work and commitment to our organization Josh has been awarded the opportunity to commence his career as a Finance Broker.  Josh will receive ongoing training and mentoring as part of our staff progression and development plan.  Congratulations on completing your first 2 years with Centrepoint we look forward to supporting your journey to becoming a successful finance broker.

In Josh’s spare time you will find him Fishing, supporting NRL, and Premier League.

Melita How- Westlawn Insurance Brokers - Brisbane Branch Manager

Over the past 14 years, Melita has been challenged across a variety of industries as a commercial and corporate insurance broker. Mining, Construction and associated services industries have been her areas of speciality. Melita’s professional journey has provided her opportunities to work with ASX listed entities as well as developing businesses. Melita has always aimed to engage with clients and support them to achieve their insurance needs and requirements. Today, as the Westlawn branch manager, Melita extends her capacity and support towards Centrepoint Finance clients. From her experience the insurance world is an everchanging and diverse industry and Melita is excited to provide services that meet their insurance needs.

Richard (Dick) Hoppe- Finance Consultant

Dick has spent over 21 years in the finance broking industry. He joined Centrepoint Finance in September 2001, after positions with two other broking houses. He is happiest when working for clients in the wine and plastics industries, which form the nucleus of his client base.

Mark Graven- Finance Consultant

Mark has spent over 15 years in the finance industry. Before joining Centrepoint Finance he was Victorian manager, third party sales, with the National Australia Bank’s asset finance arm. He held various management positions before that. Mark has worked for the Adtrans Group and as a treasury accountant, also for the National Australia Bank, where he joined via its graduate program. Mark brings to Centrepoint Finance a high degree of experience in working with clients to develop and tailor suitable finance requirements.

Michelle Shaw- Office Manager

Kicking off her career in the Newcastle office of Suncorp Equipment Finance as a young 18-year-old, Michelle has been an amazing injection of knowledge and experience to the Centrepoint Team after 20+ years with financiers such as Suncorp, NAB and BOQ and a variety of roles from credit, support and executive assistant.

With a positive “can do” attitude that shines bright Michelle brings a great vibe to our office, especially on days she bakes for the team.

On the weekends you will find our busy working mum chasing her 2 beautiful young boys around to footy games or the beach. Life is very full for our Michelle, and we love hearing about their weekend adventures on a Monday morning – especially the tales of her “spirited” little boys.

Ericka Ison- Broker Support Specialist

Ericka started at Centrepoint Finance at the beginning of 2022, her previous roles were heavily based around Retail and Customer Service ranging between managing a Fashion Boutique to Business Management within Car Dealerships. Since starting as a Broker Support Specialist, Ericka has learnt invaluable skills that will carry on throughout her career within the Finance Industry.

Outside the daily grind of the office, Ericka is usually getting her hands dirty in a creative art project, soaking in some nature on a hike around the hinterland or getting some practise in on the guitar, piano or drums.

One of Ericka’s goals is to always inject an optimistic attitude towards her day-to-day tasks and provide our brokers with a second to none support. Creating a workplace environment that is a balance between productive and positive is important and something Ericka strives for daily.

Naomi Lee- Broker Support Specialist

Naomi has worked in Equipment Finance for over twenty years and recently reached a ten-year milestone here at Centrepoint Finance.
Before her current role, Naomi was with Suncorp Bank in Brisbane CBD.  Naomi held the positions of Qld Business Retention Specialist and Workflow Co-Ordinator for the Equipment Finance Team.

Customer service has always been a focus throughout Naomi’s career. Her goal is to assist our broker team by providing excellent communication
skills, industry experience and ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service.

In her free time, Naomi enjoys heading to the coast to relax, getting outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Travel is her passion and she is looking forward to exploring more countries in the future.

Jacob Brown- Broker Support Specialist

Jacob recently started his career in finance, he has a strong background in accounting and is looking forward to learning about the finance industry. Having worked in fast paced management roles he is passionate about providing excellent customer service. Jacob enjoys fishing and cars meets.

Barbara Bylett- Administration Assistant

Barb has been a long-term team member of Centrepoint Finance. Barb has worked in a large variety of fields including, Administration, Market Research, Medical, Hospitality, Government and Finance. Barb was with Centrepoint for 12 years in Accounts before having a short break before returning as a casual Administration Assistant. She has an excellent proactive attitude and is a wealth of knowledge and support to our team.

Barb enjoys working for Centrepoint – She enjoys not only the work but her co-workers as well. She loves being busy and keeping active. On Barb’s days off, you will find her socialising, playing tennis, sewing. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family. Barb’s main goal is to enjoy life!
